Damir Radovic - Petit chien grosse merde!

Along with his second one man show at krupic kersting gallery, Cologne franco-bosnian artist Damir Radovic, Lyon, starts a graphic and installative odyssey dipping deep into the horror scenarios of european politics.

Accompanied by a high graphic density, his surrealistic and poetic pictures are reaching out to the borders of ‘Polit Pop’. Though without strikingly addressing failures Radovic skillfully succeeds to get global topics rolling such as integration, nomadic society paradigms and identity.

Like that one of his current neon work “Nous tournons en rond” (petit chien grosse  merde)” it’s freely transferred from a political Bosnian idiom into French pointing „the dirt of the little sinners“. Yet another work shows the sanguineous map of his adopted country France with the golden word “Balkanisation”, which refers to the internal social-territorial decline of a society ailing in its core.

For several years Radovic uses written installative banner statements. They virtually remind of past protest movements and indirectly connect to role models such as Jenny Holzers politicalization of the words. The fact that the selection of some of these statements give a reason to smile benignly makes his world turn into an experience.

In 2010 Damir Radovic had one man shows in the "Centre d'Art Contemporain Duplex," Sarajevo and the Gallery of the Insa Lyon. He also participated in shows such as Ostrale Dresden and at the Centre d'Art Contemporain in Grenoble.
